“In the theatre the drama proceeds from the actor,
in the cinema it goes from the decor to man.” Jean Paul Sartre

REBIRTH is a monologue from T Berto’s full-length play, Four Ways
‘Til Rain, In which Actor Cole J. Alvis and Director Raha Shirazi as part of their
ongoing discussion comparing and contrasting theater and film, bring these
mediums together to share their perspective knowledge through experimental theatre.

A multimedia solo-performance hybrid, REBIRTH, combines live storytelling with
projections of a prerecorded character (Hawlis) creating a theatrical realm where
Ryan seeks absolution from the shame he feels over the loss of his family.

By uniting two distinct narrative art forms, Cole and Raha try to engage their
audience with an artistic fusion that surpasses the sum of
its parts.
